The Axe from the Roots
I found this axe under some roots of a blown over dead tree. It was sitting where the arrow shows
The handle was made from a hickory stave. It was roughed with a draw knife. Some work was done with the belt grinder.
The head was cleaned up on the wire wheel. I will leave the remaining pitting. It just adds history and character.
