Forged Blacksmith’s Post Vise

I’ve never seen a post vise quite like this. I thought it was pretty unique. I’m told the use of wrought iron makes it pre 1900 +/-

Note the post is broke and most of it’s missing. It looks like even the short piece thats’ left was repaired once before.
