HAND FORGED 12” Froe & Froe Mallet
This is hand forged from a vintage implement tine using traditional blacksmithing techniques. The handle is hand rived air dried ash.
The mallet is made from hophornbeam. hophornbeam has a Janka Hardness of 1,860 lbf making it one of the hardest woods native to the north east (white oak is 1,350 lbf and locus is 1,700 lbf). This mallet is heavier than most you can buy and will certainly outlast them. It is made for heavy use.
Proudly made in my shop in upstate New York.
